Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Migration Agency has decided not to conduct expulsions to the country at the moment. The authority will also not make decisions in the asylum cases regarding applications from Ukraine.
After Russia’s invasion and the escalated military conflict in Ukraine, the Migration Agency has decided to stop execution to the country. This means that no rejections and expulsions to Ukraine will currently be implemented. The authority will also not make decisions in the cases concerning asylum seekers from Ukraine.
– At the moment, wars are ongoing in several parts of Ukraine and the risk of the civilian population being affected by conflict violence is high. It is difficult to get a sure picture of how the situation will develop both in the short and long term. We need to collect more information before any new assessment of the security situation and the need for protection can be made, says Anna Lindblad, Deputy Legal Director at the Migrationsverket.
The real estate stop and the decision stop for Ukraine is valid from February 24 and until further notice. The Migration Agency continues to closely monitor and analyze the ongoing conflict and the situation in the country.
